ABOUT MFT BLOG

Whether you’re a seasoned writer or wanting to try your hand at writing for the first time, the MFT Blog is a space for all future-thinkers to contribute. We’d love to hear your thoughts or insight on current topics and their impact on our shared future. 

Our readers are diverse in industry, interest, and experience. However, one aspect we all have in common is that we are a future-thinking community. 

The MFT Blog readers see future challenges as opportunities and are inspired by the idea of navigating our future through collaborative and interdisciplinary approaches.

The Blog is a place for you to contribute to an interdisciplinary environment that inspires positive thought, solutions to problems and ideas that can change lives. 

This is a platform for you to critically think about the future and to raise your voice on a topic(s) that you are passionate about.

Submission process:

  • Email your work to publications@futurethinkers.org.au OR convenor@futurethinkers.org.au

  • MFT will get back to all submissions within a week, and once reviewed and consent is obtained will be posted on our website.

  • Articles will be mentioned on social media, as well as in the newsletter.

Before you progress, please reflect on whether your submission aligns with one or more of the following MFT values: 

  • Inspire and empower students, professionals and the community to be proactive in shaping their personal and shared futures

  • Facilitate challenging and enlightening discussion

  • Generate innovative ideas through interdisciplinary exchange

Style, date and length:

The types of articles appropriate for the blog range from but not limited to:

  • short features on specific quality topics (300-500 words)

  • step-by-step how-to’s or listicles 

  • practical advice 

  • case studies

  • long-form features (1000 words) (supplemented with real-world experience)

  • analysis or research

  • Interview article

  • compelling first-person or personal stories 

  • opinion pieces 

Submissions are accepted on a rolling basis and can be anywhere from 200-1000 words. All work must be original. Unlimited (different) submissions allowed!

Eligibility:

  • Anyone who is a current student can submit their work.

Information required (*prefered but not necessary): 

  • Author name (Name disclosure or preferred name)

  • Email/phone number

  • Title and the topic you’ve written about

  • Your written piece in Word/PDF format 

  • A few sentences on what inspired you to write the article

  • Accompanying image(s)* (i.e. File Attachments - Please upload the image you'd like to appear alongside your piece if applicable. Photos must include names of everyone shown and a description of what is taking place)
